careers research
In Social Studies I'm studying a cabinet maker and planning out how much money they get, annually and monthly. We are learning how to budget. The reason we are doing this because we will be choosing the job that we want to do and the same. This is for/ our careers.

Boomerang
In social studies, we have been learning about the boomerangs and we had the opportunity to paint one and throw one.
What was the purpose of this activity?
To learn the skill of the boomerang and learn about their culture.
What's the story on my boomerang?
well, there are three branches to represent trees and the sun represents the sun.

Art drawing- research drawings
This week in art we are learning to understand the different artist and their techniques and street art.
why do we look at street art? We look at street art because we are learning their techniques.
Why do we stop and look at street art? because it's big, bold and beautiful.

Children of blood and bone essay
Do all Humans deserve to be treated equally?
Well, in the book Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi,
Amari the daughter of the ruthless of Orisha what the victim of the subject
because of her Father ( King Saran) was a ruthless, overpowering
ruler that only cared about himself.
In Chapter 9, Zelie miss judged Amari because of her family background
and her heritage. This is shown when in chapter 9 when Zelie drags Amari
into the fire because she sees Amari’s father in her. Amari screams but Zelie
doesn't want a bar of it. Zelie hates Amari’s family because her father and his
men killed thousands of Maji’s. At this, Amari and Zelie bearly know each other
and don't understand one another nor do they understand that they are different
from their family's. although, like the hunger games both people are from
different families and different backgrounds. Zelie and Amari just met and
Zelie already has a hatred towards Amari because of her family.
In chapter 45, Zelie judges Inan (Amari’s brother) and treats her like the rest
of their family. Like when Zelie says “Your people, your guards.
They’re nothing more than killers, rapists and thieves.
The only difference between them and criminals is the uniforms they wear.”
Zelie categorises all of Inan’s and Amari’s family and people as criminals
and terrorist just because of what King Saran (their father) and his guards
have done to the Majis. Does Zelie not know that there are more fish in the sea?
That there are more than evil? Well, she soon finds out.
Well, in chapter 41 Inan finally sees how evil and heartless his father is.
When Inan cuffs Zelie’s wrist tight, he said to himself “I let go of her wrists,
but inside I let go of so much more. Father’s tactics. His Orïsha. Everything
I now realize I don’t want to be”. He wants to be King of Orisha, a better king
for Orisha. Inan wants a better Orisha, An Orisha that gets along and doesn't
fight but his father is still in power and his father wants the opposite.
You see, Inan has never been out of the castle and has never experienced new
people and people with different views but since he had been out he wants to
do better for Orisha. His duty has always been to Orisha but he wants Orisha
to be a better place for all and so no one suffers.
In conclusion, Amari and Inan finally see what the rest of Orisha is like
and wants to change what their father wants. Zelie could see past all history
and now is trying to save her people and Inan wants the best for Orisha.
People deserve forgiveness if they earn it and we need to stop judging books
by their covers.

My Food Bag Semester
The design process:
What was my profile target?
My profile target was a 25-year-old who is allergic to egg. I got this idea from myself as when I was younger, I was highly allergic to egg so I wanted to find more recipes and try more out.
What was my recipe decision based on?
My decision was based on mainly budget and because I had previously made Green Thai Curry before. I felt like it would be a good recipe to make and it was also a family altered Green Thai Curry.
My recipe for Green Thai Curry:
How does it fit into the nutritional model of 'the dinner plate'?
Well, it bearly has fat, sugar or non-healthy foods.
What changes did we make during the 2 practicals?
We added capsicum and we left sauce in it.
Why did we make these changes?
We made these changes because it needed more flavour, colour and sauce.
What were the positives about the final practical?
Well, it was tastier, colourful and saucier.
What were 2 things I have learned in this semester?
I learned how to work better and quicker with a group, I also learned how to add more flavourful things into dishes.

2 chicken breasts
51 grams of green Thai paste
136 grams of rice (1 cup) (get the rice on to cook asap)
Whole Green beans
Preparation time:
10-20 mins
Cooking time:
10 to 30 mins
Serves:
Serves 4
Method:
- Cook time 10-30 minutes
- Cut chicken into pieces ( size?)
- Cut beans in half ( remember to cut ends off too)
- Cut spring onions into small rings (use 3 spring onions)
- Cooktop (hob) to medium temperature. Put a frying pan onto the hob
- Add a splash of oil to the pan
- Brown chicken in pan, add Exotic brand green curry paste. Stir
- Add coconut milk. Stir
- Add beans and spring onions. Mix gently

- Check other vegetables are cooked also(this stir fry vegetable)
- Once all cooked serve green Thai Curry on rice.
- Garnish with chopped Spring onion
Why was my recipe chosen?
My recipe was chosen because Mrs Hindson and my group wanted to see what it was like and what it would turn out like.

Testing for hydrogen gas
Aim: To show that hydrogen gas is produced when a metal reacts with an acid
Equipment:
Test tube
Boiling tube
Retort stand
Wooden splint
2M Hydrochloric acid
Magnesium
Safety glasses
Method:
Results:
Discussion:
Mg + HCL= Hydrogen
The metal was consumed by the reaction, a new product (gas) was formed. The energy was released by the reaction. When the metal dissolved it formed a gas and the test tube became warm.
Evaluation: The first few times it was not Succesful. We did not do it properly the first couple times so we had to improve the way we did things. We weren't fast enough so some of the Hydrogen gas escaped.
Equipment:
Test tube
Boiling tube
Retort stand
Wooden splint
2M Hydrochloric acid
Magnesium
Safety glasses
Method:
1. Attach the boiling tube upside down to the retort stand.
2. Add your sample of metal to your test tube. Pour 2ml of 2M Hydrochloric acid into the test tube.
3. Keep gently shaking/swirling the test tube until the metal is gone.
4.When you think the tube is full carefully remove the test tube.
5. Light a wooden splint and put it into the opening of the boiling tube.
The flame s go out with a loud pop.
