Introductions to connections

Questions to answer when viewing/reading texts:

How does viewing this text through a child’s perspective change the way we experience it? Explain using an example from the text.

- Changes the way we experience things, adults have ´fewer emotions´, they hide their emotions more. The movie would be more in-depth. not as much experience as an adult, kids are more innocent and impressionable.

How would this text be different if it were told from the perspective of an adult? How would the audience’s experience be different?

- it was based on an adult or from an adults perspective, you would see the movie completely different. There would be more secrecy, darker and potentially more serious. the adult would show a darker side of the nazis (depending whos perspective it is).

Why did the filmmaker or author decide to tell this story from a child’s perspective?

-This is so they could show multiple sides and how easily children are influenced. Also to show a happier, lighter side.

How are children represented in the text? How are adults represented in the text?

- The children are shown as happy, young, impressional kids. The adults are represented as serious, responsible and not comedic.

Does imagination help the young hero to cope? How so? Provide an example.

- In the movie Jojo Rabbit, Jojo (the main character) has an imaginary from whos was Hitler. Hitler basically told Jojo what to do. This had its pros and cons, the pros were that Jojo made friends and was more adventurous. the cons were that Jojo ´became´ a nazi.

Does this text connect in any other ways to the other texts you have read/viewed? How so? Provide evidence and explain.

- I'm not sure.

Descriptive Writing

Today in English we have been assigned the task to read a paragraph from a story and carry it on in our own words. I've chosen Sons and Lovers by D.H Lawrence.

This paragraph is from THIS website
From the book: “She looked at her roses. They were white, some incurved and holy, others expanded in an ecstasy. The tree was dark as a shadow. She lifted her hand impulsively to the flowers; she went forward and touched them in worship.”

What I'm adding on:
She didn't see the small, red prickles still attached to them. She lets out a loud scream, she ran to find someone to help her take them out but she couldn't find anyone. She leapt down the white spiral stairs and scrambled into the bathroom. The bathroom was like no other, the walls were white marble and the sink top was granite. she looked top to bottom to find tweezers and she finally found them in a draw. she yelps as she takes the prickles out one by one.

Young Blood
5 Seconds of Summer
Remember the words you told me, love me 'til the day I die
Surrender my everything 'cause you made me believe you're mine
Yeah, you used to call me baby, now you calling me by name
Takes one to know one, yeah
You beat me at my own damn game
You push and you push and I'm pulling away
Pulling away from you
I give and I give and I give and you take, give and you take
Youngblood
Say you want me
Say you want me
Out of your life
And I'm just a dead man walking tonight
But you need it, yeah, you need it
All of the time
Yeah, ooh ooh ooh
Youngblood
Say you want me
Say you want me
Back in your life
So I'm just a dead man crawling tonight
'Cause I need it, yeah, I need it
All of the time
Yeah, ooh ooh ooh
Lately, our conversations end like it's the last goodbye
Yeah, one of us gets too drunk and calls about a hundred times
So who you been calling, baby, nobody could take my place
When you're looking at those strangers, hope to God you see my face
Youngblood
Say you want me
Say you want me
Out of your life
And I'm just a dead man walking tonight
But you need it, yeah, you need it
All of the time
Yeah, ooh ooh ooh
Youngblood
Say you want me
Say you want me
Back in your life
So I'm just a dead man crawling tonight
'Cause I need it, yeah, I need it
All of the time
Yeah, ooh ooh ooh
You push and you push and I'm pulling away
Pulling away from you
I give and I give and I give and you take, give and you take
You're running around and I'm running away
Running away from you, from you
Youngblood
Say you want me
Say you want me
Out of your life
And I'm just a dead man walking tonight
But you need it, yeah, you need it
All of the time
Yeah, ooh ooh ooh
Youngblood
Say you want me
Say you want me
Back in your life
So I'm just a dead, man crawling tonight
'Cause I need it, yeah, I need it
All of the time
Yeah, ooh ooh ooh
You push and you push and I'm pulling away
Pulling away from you
I give and I give and I give and you take, give and you take
Youngblood
Say you want me
Say you want me
Out of your life
And I'm just a dead man walking tonight

Ideal World

Ideal World

What does an ideal world look like in your mind?

What could you do to make it a reality?

My ideal world would have no racism and skin colour didn't matter not will it ever matter. Homelessness would be a thing and there would be no habitat loss nor would there be deforestation. There would be no slavery and everyone would have decent meals each day and no one would go hungry. Everyone would have decent pay and no one would go out of pocket. There would be no pollution nor the fear of losing innocent animal/creature to extinction. There would be no animal abuse and no war between country. Everyone would have access to free medical care and free education.

To make a difference, I'm going to cut down on plastic products and not use products that test on animals or harm animal in the process.
