How Laws Are Made In New Zealand

Who is responsible for laws?
Government.

What are the three groups responsible for laws?

Government, Parliment, courts.

Who is responsible for signing a new law to make it official?
The courts.

What is a bill?
The word bill is used to refer to an idea or suggestion for a law.

What is a law?
Laws are the rules of a nation that everyone is expected to follow.

The steps in making a new law.

    Bill is introduced to Parliament.
First reading in Parliament followed by a debate about whether the bill should go ahead. A vote is then taken. If Parliament votes ‘no’ the bill does not become a law. If Parliament votes ‘yes’ the bill continues on through the process.
Sent to Select Committee. The public can state whether they agree with the bill or not and may also present their opinions to the Select Committee.
The Select Committee makes a report on the bill which includes the changes made based on public opinion.
The second reading in Parliament followed by a debate about whether the bill changes should go ahead. A vote is then taken from the Select Committee. If they vote ‘no’ the changes to the bill are dismissed. If the changes are accepted the main bill is changed to include them.

FINAL STEPS INTO MAKING THE LAW

            6. Parliament then votes on whether the bill should progress with new changes.
            7. The Committee of the Whole House considers every single clause of the bill individually. Changes are made and MP’s may speak for or against the bill.
            8. Third reading in Parliament with the final bill being read and debated. A final vote is cast. At this point, it is unlikely for the bill to fail. If Parliament votes yes it goes onto become a law.
            9. Royal assent is required for a bill to become an Act of Parliament. The Governor General signs on behalf of the Queen, making it an official law.

            Wonder Questions Through page 101-141

            1)  Part one of the story is August side of the story and part two is Vias side of the story.

            2) She doesn't get much attention as she did when she was younger. She only really got attention from her grandparents. Well, she is the oldest child and she tries to act like its fine (like most teenagers). Older sisters/brothers always get pushed to the side sometimes and I think that's what is happening.
I can defiantly relate to this, I have three brothers and one sister, two older and two younger.

            3) I think it means that everything revolves around August ever since he was little because of everything that he has been through.

            4) I actually don't agree with Via, if Augusts Mum didn't make him feel normal he could feel more depressed now than ever, or I could be wrong.

            5) Olivia is Via, but Via is her nickname at home and Olivia is her name at school. I think Via is having a hard time at the moment, it might get easier.

            6) Via is an intelligent, thought full, amazing person. I defiantly do have empathy for Via and what is happening in her life.

            7) I think he will be very nervous about what happened with his so-called 'friend'.

            8) It depends on the partner. If via had a child with a person that had none of that deformity in his family I think its a one in four that the child will have it but the child will not look like August. If her partners family had the deformity it will be one in two chances and still most likely won't look like August.

            9) Miranda wanted to popular it seems, shes changed her look and hangs out with the popular kids.
My opinion is that Miranda called August hoping to talk to Via.

            10) She didn't really mind what he looked like, she was fine about it and not mean about it like most people. Summer and August became friends because she likes his personality and because he was 'different' to others.

            What am I learning?
I'm learning about a kid that has a syndrome that is not like any other syndrome.

How am I showing my work?
I'm showing my work on this blog.

            what am I wondering?
I am wondering if August becomes friends with Jack again.

What are my strengths in writing?
Language and feature, I also think that I'm good at writing when I'm not stressed out.

What are my next steps in writing?
My next step is to add a conclusion and ideas.

Where would I like to be in writing by the end of year nine?
I would like to be at the end of level 4 and I hope it would look like no grammar problems.

            Wonder work page 41-80

            1) I Think it is because Auggie can relate to some of the characters physically and mentally.

            2) When Julian made an observed comment comparing August to Darth Sidious.

            3) I do agree with this precept I rather am kind than the right because being right is not always the best way to go.

            4) I think it because she went on-and-on about it.

            5) I think it because their all stuck up little immature kids that are not nice.

            6) A strong dislike of someone or something.

            7) No one wants to touch August because they think that they can contract a disease that will make them look like August. I would feel so angry at people because its the inside that counts not the outside.

            8) Honestly, it did. Even if he was doing it for popularity there is no excuse for it, those words he said are so hurtful.

            9) He probably will go back to school but it would be so hard for him especially when you hear that kind of things said about you from a 'friend'.

            DICTATORS

            DICTATORS

            (THIS IS BEING VERY STEREOTYPICAL)
They are (as listed) self-confidence, Independence, sexually energetic, Self-absorbed,  masterful liars, Compassionless, often sadistic and genuine psychopath. They are not the nicest people but the media makes them out to look mental and worse then what they actually are. Everyone has a different opinion about everything especially dictators some of them like them but most don't. They obviously don't make the best but think it's best for their country. For instance today (12 june 2018) Kim Jong Un just banned social media from north Korea. Obviously he doesn't want his people to find ways to escape his asswipe of a country.
